Problem and Solution
With the rapid development of China's economy, primary business Chinese teaching becomes a new course in the field of teaching Chinese as a foreign language. Many students find the business Chinese courses are very difficult, they always think they can not successfully overcome the business Chinese class. Rather than intimidating the students with all the study materials, this LMS course is designed to facilitate the process by providing visualized materials and diverse multimedia activities to engage students with the learning process.
Process
LMS project allows users to plan, create and access educational materials as they undergo a specific learning process. In order to design this project, I created an Action Map, developed Online Module Design Documents, and developed a prototype. After receiving feedback and experimenting with different styles in Canvas, I developed a smooth and sleek final product.

No efficient action can take place without methodical forethought. In order to successfully carry out any undertaking, a blueprint or plan is of utmost importance. In the case of an eLearning course, the Instructional Design document offers clarity about the vision of the course, in addition to providing step-by-step instructions on the structure of the course. It documents how the course structure, navigation, or design should be, the audio and visual elements to be used, and so on.
I designed the project using the ADDIE model. “ADDIE” which stands for Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluation, is a popular term used to describe a systematic approach to instructional development. Firstly, I analyzed the objectives and goals of the course, resources, and materials needed for designing this course. Then I designed the course modules with all related activities and assessments.
Full Development
The project is developed using multimedia tools. Multimedia has transformed many traditional media such as paper books, text, and other written material into online, instantaneously available interactive forms that can be seen, heard or read, allowing for multiple senses to be engaged in the learning material. The integration of multimedia technology has become a core part of e-learning technologies in order to provide means of delivering various forms of content.
Takeaways
The course objective is that students will be able to understand and apply business-related Mandarin phrases when doing business with Chinese people and will be able to understand the business culture in China. The course includes 5 modules, from succeeding in interviews to planning business trips to China. The module objectives are the breakdown of the course objectives. Then all the materials, activities, and assessments in my course support the learning objectives of each module, and each module, in turn, supports the course-level objectives.
In terms of improvement, I would like to make more constructive alignments among different modules. I did great in aligning learning outcomes or objectives and teaching activity and assessment for each module. But there is a lack of connections among different modules. It will create a better flow when coming to different modules.
